Gaydio, the UK's dedicated LGBTQ+ radio station, recently unveiled a new state-of-the-art headquarters in Manchester as part of its 20th anniversary celebrations.
Representing the largest investment in the station's history, the new facility overlooks Manchester's Gay Village and has been designed to support the future of broadcasting.
The move reflects Gaydio's continued investment in its broadcast facilities, expanding its capabilities with dedicated spaces for live radio, visual content and the next generation of broadcasters.
To support the studio fit-out, Ultra LEDs supplied an RGB lighting solution featuring RGB COB LED Tape, RGBW COB LED Tape, recessed and surface-mounted LED profiles, opal diffusers and Pro Low Voltage Cable, helping bring the new broadcast spaces to life.
The new headquarters brings Gaydio's radio, video and training facilities together under one roof.
Alongside three visual studios, the building includes expanded production spaces and the Gaydio Academy, giving aspiring LGBTQ+ broadcasters and creatives access to industry-standard facilities while supporting the station's growing digital output.
Across the studio fit-out, RGB COB LED Tape and RGBW COB LED Tape were installed within recessed and surface-mounted LED profiles to create clean, continuous lighting throughout the space.
Combined with opal diffusers, the installation delivers smooth lines of light suited to both everyday broadcasting and video production.
Ultra LEDs worked alongside Kriss Herbert-Noble and the Gaydio team to support the lighting installation, supplying products tailored to the different studio spaces and production areas.
The project combined RGB & RGBW COB LED Tape, recessed and surface-mounted LED profiles, opal diffusers and Pro Low Voltage Cable, with product lengths selected to suit each installation area.
The result is a coordinated lighting scheme that complements Gaydio's branding while providing flexible RGB lighting throughout the new headquarters.
The completed headquarters marks a significant milestone for Gaydio as the station continues to invest in its future, creating new opportunities for broadcasting, digital content and talent development.
By supplying the RGB lighting solution for the new studios, Ultra LEDs supported a project that reflects Gaydio's continued growth while helping create a broadcast space ready for the next generation of programming and content creation.
