As part of a major retail display refresh across stores throughout the UK and Europe, Urban Outfitters required a bespoke lighting solution that could be replicated across multiple locations while maintaining the same visual identity in every store.
The suspended lighting features formed a key part of the retail displays, flowing above product areas and following sweeping curves throughout the installation. With stores differing in size and layout, every system needed to be manufactured to suit the individual display while remaining consistent with the wider rollout.
Working alongside the project requirements, Ultra LEDs designed and manufactured a bespoke lighting solution, producing installation-ready systems for stores across the UK and Europe.
Although every Urban Outfitters store followed the same display concept, no two installations were exactly alike.
A total of 62 bespoke lighting kits were manufactured for the rollout, with each assembly tailored to suit the dimensions and layout of the individual store. While the overall specification remained consistent, certain kits were adapted to accommodate different display sizes, ceiling layouts and curved lighting features.
Rather than supplying individual lighting components, every system was assembled, wired and quality checked before dispatch, allowing each installation to arrive as a complete lighting assembly built specifically for its location.
At the centre of every installation was our Essential Circular 18mm LED Neon Flex.
Unlike conventional linear lighting, the Circular Neon Flex could follow the flowing curves that wrapped around suspended display structures and clothing installations, creating a continuous line of illumination without interrupting the design. Its flexibility made it ideal for forming the organic shapes used throughout the refreshed retail displays while maintaining a consistent appearance from store to store.
Each bespoke assembly incorporated the Circular Neon Flex alongside a 24V Tagra Constant Voltage Driver, pre-assembled AC Pack Kit, enclosure, wiring and electrical accessories. By completing the electrical assembly before dispatch, every kit arrived fully prepared for installation rather than requiring components to be wired together on site.
