Colony's King Street workspace is the company's second location in Manchester's Central Business District, bringing another flexible coworking space to the city centre.
As part of the fit-out, the project included a suspended ceiling lighting feature using our Tagra Dual Circ 40 LED Neon Flex. Positioned above the main coworking area and visible through the large street-facing windows, the illuminated rings have become one of the standout features within the space.
Ultra LEDs supplied 16 metres of Tagra Dual Circ 40 LED Neon Flex in 3000K Warm White, manufactured to four bespoke lengths to suit the suspension layout, alongside a compatible Tagra 24V LED Driver and Suspension Kit.
As visitors enter the first floor, the suspended illuminated rings sit above the main seating and planting area, creating a feature that's visible throughout the workspace and from outside the building.
Working alongside Colony's Head of Product, Alex Campbell, the lighting formed part of the new King Street workspace. Manufacturing the neon to four bespoke lengths ensured each suspended section matched the original design while reducing preparation on site.
Alongside the bespoke neon, Ultra LEDs also supplied a compatible Tagra 24V LED Driver and Tagra Suspension Kit, providing everything required to complete the suspended installation.
The project required a lighting solution that looked just as good switched off as it did when illuminated.
Tagra Dual Circ 40 LED Neon Flex was selected for its circular profile, producing continuous 360° illumination without visible LED spotting. Unlike traditional LED strip lighting, the illuminated profile becomes part of the design itself, making it ideal for suspended commercial lighting features that are viewed from every angle.

The four bespoke neon lengths were suspended from the ceiling using the Tagra Suspension Kit to create a series of illuminated rings above the coworking space.
By manufacturing each section to the required lengths before delivery, installation on site was simplified while ensuring every ring matched the original specification. The continuous 360° illumination creates an even light output around each ring without visible LED spotting.
The suspended rings have become a defining feature of Colony's King Street workspace, providing warm 3000K illumination above the communal working area.
Visible throughout the workspace and through the building's street-facing windows, the installation demonstrates how bespoke neon can be used to create suspended lighting features that become part of the overall interior design while maintaining a clean, contemporary finish.
